Renewable Energy

This route provides a glimpse into Pueblo’s transition towards clean energy. The past and future collide when pedaling this one. Not only do you see the recognizable Comanche coal power plant, but you’ll notice the new wind and solar farms. Pueblo receives 107% more sun than Berlin, Germany, a global leader in solar, and 99% as much solar as Yuma, AZ, which is known as the sunniest city in the country. As you ride north along C.R. 724  (Flying A Road) you’ll truly experience the rugged open terrain of eastern Pueblo County. Pronghorn leaping fence lines, cattle and horses roaming ranch land, and red-tailed hawks circling above, all combine to make this ride memorable. Completing this one is a worthy accomplishment. Perfect for those seeking a training ride, especially during the fall and winter months.
